M.M Mbusube Ph.D; Petroleum Geoscientist.
Expert Research Geoscientist
Mbusube is a third-generation oil and gas professional who holds a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of Maiduguri, an MSc in Petroleum and Gas Engineering from the University of Salford Manchester United Kingdom and a PhD at the institute of GeoEnergy Engineering, Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh United Kingdom. Mbusube
is an expert in reservoir characterization and reservoir modelling.
He is also an advanced user of commercial reservoir simulation software packages and state-of-the-art reservoir simulation workflows. A particular strength of his in this regard is his ability to link reservoir geology to reservoir dynamics, including the
impact of reservoir heterogeneities associated with the forecasting of reservoir performance, this understanding enables him to make value-based decisions when managing reservoirs.
Mbusube is professionally affiliated to SPE, EAGE, NAPE & NMGS.
Yusuf Abubakar, Ph.D; Chattered Geochemist.
Dr. Yusuf is a chartered organic geochemist with a background in geology and a fellow of the Geological Society of London (FGS), the Higher Education Academy
(FHEA) and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA), United Kingdom. His expertise centers on carbon sequestration, low carbon energies, and petroleum systems. Over a decade of study and research in geochemistry and geology and relevant experience from the industry, he has
immensely improved and made achievements in three broad interrelated themes; (i)Nutrient cycling (ii) Factors critical in hydrocarbon source rock formation (iii) Pollution, bioremediation, and energy
decarbonization, linked to ecosystem health and sustainability.
Jamilu Usman, Ph.D; Environmental Chemist.
Dr. Jamilu holds a bachelor’s degree in applied chemistry from Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto, as well as a master’s degree in petroleum Geochemistry from Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. He subsequently obtained a Ph.D. from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in Chemical Engineering with a focus on applications of ceramic membranes for oil recovery from oilfield produced
water.
He has vast experience teaching and mentoring young chemists, reviewing for high impact journals as well as consulting for the Sokoto state government.
S.I Abba, Ph.D; AI/Big Data Specialist
Dr. Abba received his B.Sc. from Bayero University Kano (BUK), M. Tech degree from Sharda University, India, and Ph.D. from Near East University (NEU) Cyprus,
Cyprus. He worked with Yusuf Maitama Sule University from 2013 to 2020.
Abba is a lecturer at the department of civil engineering, Baze University, Nigeria, and a researcher at King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM).
His research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, water footprint, water security, groundwater, membrane and desalination, wastewater, water quality, water resources, public health, pollution control,
climate change, sustainable development, hydro-climatology, hydro environmental modeling, computational engineering, soft computing, and optimization algorithm. In addition, he has excellent software, coding, remote
Sensing, and GIS expertise.
Abba is featured in the world’s top 2% scientists
(2022) by Elsevier and Stanford University, USA, having published more than 120 research articles and book chapters and serving as a reviewer in over 25 renowned journals.
Arc. Muhammad Zia-ul-haq, Ph.D; Construction Manager.
Arc. Muhammad Zia-ul haq is a seasoned architect with over 16years of expertise in building design and construction.
His portfolio spans residential, institutional and industrial projects. He has also played a key role in expanding and upgrading campus buildings in ABU Zaria serving as an architect on various technical sub-committee.
His passion for the field extends beyond his professional practice, as he has dedicated 14 years to educating future professionals as a lecturer in Building Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
Arc Muhammad holds a bachelor’s degree (Hons) and a master’s degree (MSc) in Architecture both from ABU Zaria, a second MSc degree in Structural Engineering & Construction Management from Newcastle University UK, and is currently completing a PhD in Quantity Surveying at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Malaysia.
As an associate member of NIA (National Institute of Architects), Arc. Muhammad stands as a dedicated architect, educator, and researcher, contributing significantly to the world of architecture and construction.
His contributions to scholastic publications and conferences demonstrate his dedication to the advancement of knowledge in the field of architecture and construction. He has numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations to his name.
Umar Kabo-Idris; Int'l Development Expert
Umar is an accomplished global health and innovation practitioner with a decade long track record in spearheading digital health and innovation initiatives across
Africa.
As the West Africa Regional Advisor for the British government’s Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA), a key component of the African
Innovation and Technology Partnerships (ATIP), he plays a pivotal role in fortifying innovation ecosystems. Umar actively engages in the selection, assessment, and
oversight of grantee projects driving innovation ecosystem enhancement including working closely with the national and sub-national governments across Nigeria and
Ghana.
His expertise extends to providing technical assistance for the NPHCDA’s CHIPS PIU, focusing on governance and coordination of the CHIPS program in Nigeria, with a
strong emphasis on data and innovation strategies through funding from USAID.
Umar’s illustrious career encompasses project management at eHealth Africa, where he spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives across 11 African nations.
During his tenure at the WHO Nigeria country office, he made substantial contributions in digital health and innovation, overseeing the implementation of digital
immunization programs across Nigeria and the wider African region.
Abdulrazaq Iliya, Ph.D. Environmental Specialist.

Dr. Abdulrazaq Iliya is a distinguished environmental scientist with a robust background in greenhouse gas (GHG) measurements, carbon footprinting, and GHG accounting. Holding a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of Nottingham, Dr. Iliya has honed his expertise in statistical modeling using R and Genstat, enabling him to conduct comprehensive exploratory data analyses and create insightful visualizations with SigmaPlots. Dr. Iliya’s academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural and Environmental Sciences from the American University of Nigeria, followed by a Master’s in Environmental Management from Sheffield Hallam University. His multidisciplinary education has equipped him with a profound understanding of environmental systems and sustainable management practices.
Throughout his career, Dr. Iliya has been instrumental in various projects aimed at assessing and mitigating environmental impacts through precise GHG measurements and innovative modeling techniques. His proficiency in data analysis and visualization not only facilitates the interpretation of complex environmental data but also supports strategic decision-making for sustainable development initiatives. Committed to advancing environmental science, Dr. Iliya continues to contribute to research and policy development, striving to address pressing global challenges related to climate change and sustainability.
